General Management:

- The Kearney Community Hall Board held three (3) formal in-person meetings in 2023. Additional frequent communication was via telephone, text, and email. I continued to send out periodic email updates. Notes are on file.

– The Hall was rented for 128 days in 2023, generating $10,327.35.

- I continue to apply and refine the Booking Application, a Rate Schedule, and a Rental Agreement with input from board members.   

- Our web site continues to be maintained largely by volunteer JoAnne Puckett. I update the event calendar. This year we added a listing of all events the Board has held.

 

Construction Update:

- Grass in the new parking lot appears to becoming established nicely.

- Material (OSB) for soffits was put in place prior to insulation.

- EFS and installation project is 99% completed. In spring we’ll need to paint lower cement board, backfill, and seed the area immediately adjacent to the building not covered by the deck.

- Kitchen cabinets and bathroom shelves were completed.

- Quilts were hung.

 

Next steps in renovation, by priority:

- Outbuilding for storage

- Outhouses

- Hang more quilts

- Lawn Mower

- Programable door lock

- purchase more tables & chairs          

- Refinish dance floor

- paint interior walls

- Fans in the hall ceiling

- Playground, horse shoes, outdoor grill, lounging/picnic area, landscaping, sidewalks

 

 

Fundraising:

Fundraising sources for 2023 included rental fees, donations, and a $10,000 JCRD Grant yet to be collected.

No fundraising event was held.
